'Peanut' came to us many years ago as a very small kitten who was found on a roadway. When he entered our lives, he was extremely dirty and full of fleas. After several baths and flea treatments, he walked into our hearts forever. Peanut was the 'leader of the pack' in our cat household, a position he took over when our furbaby Charlie passed away. Peanut was so very loving and caring for the rest of the furbabies he came to know over the years. He and furbaby Missy were inseperable as Missy grew up into adulthood and beyond. Peanut saw mom and dad through many tough times over the years and was always there for us. Today, April 15, 2007, I knew time was running short for our Peanut. Growing old was catching up to him quickly and I knew his turn to cross Rainbow Bridge would be very soon. Tonight, he laid in the bathroom while mom cleaned the litterboxes and he was very cold. I took him and placed him on my lap while I sat in the recliner and covered him to keep him warm. I held him while I dozed off and when I woke up, Peanut had crossed that bridge to be greeted by all the residents there and all of our furangels who have went before him. We know that he is happy and healthy again, playing with all the vigor he used to have as a young cat, but we are sad that he is gone from our lives. His memory and love will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
