Mrs. S. E. Mann, known to her many friends as Aunt Sole, died at the home of her son, Dr. D. A. Mann, Sunday, October 22, 1933, and was buried October 23rd at the family cemetery, west of Colmesneil, near the spot where she was born, married, and reared her own family of eight sons and one daughter.

The daughter, Mrs. W. W. Dunn of Austin, and five living sons, T. C. Mann of Laredo, Dr. D. A. Mann of Beaumont, Dr. J. S. Mann of West Columbia, S. L. and J. B. Mann of Colmesneil were all present at the funeral service, which was conducted by Rev. R. L. Pope of Hillister.

The out of town friends and relatives attending this last service for "Aunt Sole" were too numerous to mention, but their presence from far and near with the lovely floral offerings bespeaks more eloquently than words the love and esteem in which she was held, and we were made to feel "She is not gone forever only away for a short time."

Aunt Sole had reached the age of 77 and had lived her years well but during the last two years had suffered much, and patiently looked forward to her release which she knew only God could give.
