|Birth: ||Jul. 22, 1915|
|Death: ||Mar., 1978|
Daughter of Ed and Dollie (Coffer) Apple, sister of Doss, Reba, Tom and Dale Apple. Mother of Freda Kendrick and Wanda Sue David. Irene was 63.
Growing up in hard times, Irene was also the mother figure for her younger brothers when her mother died. Irene was around 8 years old at time of her Mothers death and stepped into the role of Mother for the younger children at that time.
Irene lived most of her life in Arkansas, then moved to Oklahoma to be near her daughters Freda and Wanda Sue. The girls always made sure that Irene was brought back to Arkansas for visits with her two living brothers and sister-in-law Wanda.
Irene loved to fish, and would fish in a pond on property where her brother Dale lived in Dardanelle Arkansas. There was a large catfish in the pond that illuded everyone that would hook him. Irene named that fish "John Henry". When she wanted to go fishing she would say, "Lets go and see if we can catch ole John Henry." No one ever brought the fish out of the water onto land, but it was always a contest to see if one of us could.
I thought of you with LOVE today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name;
But all I have are memories that are captured in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part,
God has you in His keeping, but I have you in my heart.
Love Always Mary

@};- I just know you've caught ole John Henry dozens of times & put him back in the pond. It never hurts him, 'cause he's in Heaven too. A place where there's no more pain or death,..just love & joy. ~ 76/1 Fri.|
