Dena Drake was born February 27, 1794 at Vermont to Paul Drake and Rebecca Dean. Dena married Polly Bontz about 1820 and they had eight children: Eliza, William Henry, Mary, Sally, Almeda, Hibbard Taft, Phoebe Esther and Rebecca. Polly died October 8, 1835 and Dena married Eliza Middleton later that year. They had two children: Jane and Emily. Dena died June 7, 1861 at the age of sixty seven and was buried in the Drake Family Cemetery near the family home overlooking French Creek at Amity Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
