Pauline was the fourth of thirteen children born to August and Susanne (nee Bartel) Jakubowski. She was born in Poland. She immigrated to the USA from Parczew, Poland in 1906 with her husband Gustav Jobs and five of her daughters. They arrived at Ellis island on June 1, 1906. They lived in Manhattan for a few years before moving to Egg Harbor City in 1915
