Richard was born in Egg Harbor City, N.J..
He was the first child of two immigrant parents that came to the US looking for a new life. His mother Olga Jobs from Russian occupied Poland and his father Harold from Knottingham England. His parents ended up settling in Milford, Huntington, N.J. where his father owned and operated a hometown bakery. Richard met his wife Erma who was born and raised across the Delaware River from Milford in Upper Black Eddie, PA. They married in 1940 and raised their four sons in Milford. Richard and his wife Erma were host to many family reunions at their home in Milford. Later on Richard took over operating the bakery which was sold to Rich Foods. Richard continued his relationship with Rich Foods and became their man that set up bakery operations at their new facilities around the country. Upon retirement he moved to Murfeesboro to be near his son Don and family.
