A stranger to no one and a friend to everyone,Mr. Bennon Case lost his battle with cancer on June 22, 2010, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug. 6, 1934,
in Lincoln County to Wiley Melvin Case and Alma Rebecca Anding Case.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Clinton, Cleveland, Earl, Robert and J.W. Case; and two sisters, Elsie Covington and Carrie Bell Case.

Mr. Case is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Mae Williams Case, who was his devoted caretaker; his two daughters, Sheila Massey and husband Gary, and Sherry Britt and husband Mitchell; his three grandchildren, Jason Taylor, Matt Britt and Lacey Britt; his nine great-grandchildren, Jake, Aaron, Garrett and Haylee Taylor,and Dylan, Taylor, Hayden and Jonathan Britt, and Kylee Lopez; one brother,Alton Case; two sisters, Loise Smith and Mary Lou Smith; two sisters-in-law,Minnie Case and Maggie Case; and two brothers-in-law, Ervin Smith and Robert Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Case was well known for his great love of country music and was a gold member of the Society to Keep Country Music Alive, and up until his illness, was co-host, along with his daughter, Sheila, of
"Country Classics" on Sunday afternoons on B-92 radio. Also his grandson, Jason and his daughter, Sherry, helped out in his absence occasionally. Mr. Case was a member of the Hank Williams International Fan Club. He worked for the Brookhaven Creamery and also owned and operated Case's Record Shop in downtown Brookhaven for many years. Mr. Case was presently in his second term serving as Lincoln County Election Commissioner of District 3,and a member of the Brookhaven Masonic Lodge No. 241. He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church and was a former Lincoln County Hometown Hero. He enjoyed the many tours that came to visit his Hank Williams Sr. Museum, located in his home and was also featured on Walt Grayson's "Look Around Mississippi." He loved to play his guitar and had recorded over 30 songs, and both of his grandsons are well accomplished musicians due to his influence. He had a great love for politics and everyone enjoyed seeing his smiling face on the bench at Wal-Mart. He loved baseball and was a great supporter of his grandkids' baseball games.
