He was born in McComb, Mississippi and moved to Ocean Springs in 1981 and then relocating to Jacksonville, FL in 2005 after Katrina.
Mr. Cotten was a member of Redeemer Episcopal Church in Biloxi, MS and served in the US Navy aboard a destroyer in South Pacific during WWII. He was retired from Gruman Shipyard, Pascaqoula, MS and a graduate of UCLA.
Mr. Cotten was predeceased by his parents: Captain Junius L. Cotten, Jr. USN and Marjorie Dickerson; and his son, John Cotten and is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Juanita Cotten and 2 cousins: Dr. Charles "Mike" Cotten (Loretta) of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Dent Lucas of Greenwood, MS.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 29, 2010 at Biloxi National Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Harold Roberts officiating.
