"COLBORNE, Joseph, s. Edward, June 16, 1661. CT. R."[1][2][3][4]

Marriage
Joseph Coborn married first wife Hannah ____ by 1684 in Chelmsford.[5]

He married, secondly, the widow Deborah Wright; their intentions posted in Dracut on Dec 8, 1722.[6] Deborah was the widow of Joseph Wright of Dracut.

Misc.
In 1690, he was the one selected to care for his parents in their declining years, as the wording of a deed shows. "For divers causes me thereunto moving especially in consideration of that care to me and for my dear wife so long as it shall please God to continue both or either of us in this life I ...do convey unto my son Joseph Colburn my old dwelling house in said Dracut and upon my farm thereon, which was the Garrison House, and which he is actually possessed of. Together with my half part of that latter field which is commonly called the Barn Field."[7]

On 6 Dec 1697, he was appointed guardian to Ebenezer Goodhue, son of Joseph Goodhue and his wife, the widow Rachell Tod. Ebenezer was then aged 12 years.[8]

Occupation
He was prominent in town affairs holding the office of selectman from 1712 to 1721, fence viewer in 1714 and 1715, quartermaster in 1716, and surveyor in 1716 in Dracut, Middlesex County, Province of Mass. Bay.

Death
His death is recorded in Dracut: "Coburn, Joseph, Nov 13, 1733, in 73d yr."[9][10]
