John Callaway, son of John "Jehu" CALLAWAY and Priscilla PARKER, husband to Margaret TURNER. Father of the Callaways of Milledgeville, namely; Augustus Washington, Lucinda Amanda, John Francis Marion, Madison Jasper, Martha Missouri, Leonidas Newton, Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy Clementine, Elisha William, Mary Emiline, and Richard Columbus.

Mr. John Callaway, an old and respected citizen, died at the residence of Mr. E. Trice, in this city, on Thursday last. He was in the 82nd year of his age. (Union Recorder, Vol. X, 1870-1877)
