Frank's birth year is hard to pin down. In the 5 census's from 1900 to 1940, his birth year is listed as 1856, 1853, 1845, 1850, and 1841. In a September 2, 1917 Wichita Daily Eagle news article, his birth year is shown as 1849. According to the Feb 5, 1922 Wichita Beacon article discussing Frank's life as a scissors grinder, he was born in 1851. And according to his 1947 obituary, his birth year would be 1841. (Since the 1900 census is the oldest of the lot, it would seem it has the most chance of being correct, so it's listed as his birth year above.)
(There are long newspaper articles discussing Frank in 1917, when he almost died from getting hit by a train, in 1922 discussing his occupation, and his long 1947 obituary.)
