Margaret M. O'Hearn, 100, passed away Monday, October 21, 2002, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 3, 1902, to the late Roy and Nellie (Rideout) Crandall. Margaret was the widow of Donald O'Hearn, who passed away in 1967. In 1923 she graduated from St. Vincent Nursing School. Margaret was employed for 20 years as a senior citizen advisor for the City of Toledo Recreation Dept., retiring in 1971, and was a member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She and her husband were foster parents for many children, some who needed interim care and others who were adopted by other families. Margaret in her spare time enjoyed quilting, she started a quilting group at the Senior Centers, Inc. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to many stadiums to watch their favorite Detroit Tigers play.

Surviving are her daughters, Carole (Roger) Ehrsam, of Oregon, Ohio, Janet (Richard) Watkins of California; sister, Marie Phillips; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald J.; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Travis Mathers.

Visitation will be held at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Willow Cemetery. Contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church or to the donor's choice.
