Born in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster Co., a daughter of the late Theodore F. and Mary Ann (Wise) Zerbe.
Her husband, William F. Kring, died Jan. 16, 1966.
Katie was the oldest member of St. Paul's U.C.C. and worked for Colonial Knitting Mill, Mohnton; Triple Z Hosiery, Bowmansville; for Dr. Wenger, Terre Hill; and as a nursing assistant and cook with Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center.
She loved embroidery, flower gardening and Gospel music.
Surviving are daughter, Nancy A. (Kring) Caffrey Schafer, wife of Nicholas G. Schafer, New Holland; grandchildren, Randy E. Kring, Rodney L. Kring, Danette L. Shelly and Daniel C. Caffrey III; great-grand-children: Wyatt, Jamie, Zachary, Morgan, Penn, Brooke, Mitchell and Andrew; great-great-grand-daughter, Olive Marie; and a sister, Ann (Zerbe) Good, Narvon. Also predeceased by sons, Wilbert A. and William E. Kring; sisters, Ellen Lorah, Dorothy and Helen Zerbe; and brothers, Harry, John and Jairus Zerbe.
Services will be Friday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's U.C.C., Bowmansville, PA 17508. Burial in Bowmansville Union Cemetery. Viewings will be Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, and Friday 1 to 2 p.m. at church.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
