John served as a Second Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-17 (#42-3536), 325th Bomber Squadron, 92nd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force, during World War II.
He resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war.
John was "Killed In Action" over Europe during the war and was awarded the Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
He was originally interred in England and was later repatriated here on July 28, 1948.
