Graveside service for retired Staff Sgt. Robert O. Cooper, 75, of Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.

Staff Sgt. Cooper passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at his home.

Entombment will be under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Tennille, Ga., to Robert
Llewellyn and Mattie Mae Hall Cooper. He grew up and attended school in Georgia before joining the Air Force. He served in the Air Force for six years then joined the Army. He served in the Army and retired following 20 years of service as a staff sergeant. Following his retirement, he worked as a cook and a security guard.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Cooper, of the home; five daughters: Heather Cooper and Debra Melton, both of Cache; Carolyn Aldana and Margaret Brooks, both of Phoenix; and Lisa Oldham, of Paris, Ky.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Patricia.
