Death Of Mrs. Davis.
Mrs. I.N. Davis died at her residence in Valdosta on the 22nd ult., of consumption after a protracted and distressing illness - leaving a husband four sons and two daughters to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Davis was for many years a faithful member of the Baptist Church, a devoted wife and an indulgent and loving mother. She was the oldest daughter of the late Solomon Smith, and was born the 28th of May, 1843, at the old homestead in Lowndes, near Clyattville, which had been her home almost uninterruptedly all her life. She received a part of her education in Mary Sharpe College, Winchester, Tenn. and apart at Covington, leaving school in 1860. In May, 1861, she married Col. I.N. Davis. Her life was a
work of sacrifices and a labor of love for those whom Providence place about her.
