Robert I. Cook Passes Away
Robert I. Cook, 85, for many years a resident of this city, but for the past few years residing in Belt, passed away in a hospital in Great Falls the last of the week. He had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services were held on Monday morning in Great Falls with the Rev. Ross Allen officiating. Burial was in River Side cemetery in this city.
Mr. Cook was born March 20, 1856, in North Carolina, and he came to Montana about 50 years ago, settling at Belt where for many years he engaged in wheat farming.
He is survived by seven children: Mrs. Florence Penland, Great Falls; Carl Cook, of Laredo; Clifford Cook, of Belt; Mrs. Dora Murray, of Dutton; Mrs. Sam Bright, of Belt; Mrs. Minnie Ham, of Calgary, Alberta; and Mrs. Nettie Erwin, of Valier. Also surviving are a sister, Nancy Cook, of Fort Benton; two brothers, Allan and Thomas Cook, both of Georgia; 33 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
