Mrs. Anna Alice Cost, 103, died Thursday, July 28, at her residence in Braddock Heights.
She was born in Jefferson County, W.Va., at "Glenn Burnie" near Duffields, Sept. 28, 1873, a daughter of the late John and Olivia George Ruse.
Her husband, Thomas Eugene Cost, predeceased her in 1934.
Mrs. Cost is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Olivia Ryan; two sons, Albert Carroll, Braddock Heights, and Grafton Eugene Cost; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. cost operated a confectionery bar next to Redman's Hall on West Potomac Street in Brunswick from the end of World War I to 1934. They also owned the property and lived in the Reeder Memorial Convalescent Home in Boonsboro for 19 years, moving in 1947 to Braddock Heights.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Elks branch, Duffields, W.Va.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 30, at Boonsboro Cemetery with the Rev. Jonathan Ford officiating. Arrangements were by Gladhill Funeral Home, Middletown.
