Anna was the second of six children, and the oldest daughter. She was baptized on Christmas Day, 1836 at Perranuthnoe in Cornwall, England. On February 6, 1858, she married William Andrewartha, and the couple had nine children: William Henry, Catherine, Thomas Eva, Josiah Andrew, Richard, Henry Eva, John Eva, Elizabeth Ellen, and Ada.

Sacred to the memory of William Andrewartha who died at Goldsithney September 21st 1909 aged 72 years, and of Anna Maria his wife who died April 26th 1911 aged 71 years.
