Raymond S. Ash Jr., 72, of Nescopeck passed away peacefully at his residence Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, after battling cancer for the past five years.

He was born in Berwick on Nov. 5, 1942, a son of the late Raymond S. Sr. and Elizabeth (Grassley) Ash.

After graduating from Berwick High School in 1962, Raymond worked at the Berwick Forge and Fabrication Company; the Fulton Lamp Company, and Berwick Lighting before retiring. He also served as a sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard for six years.

Raymond was an avid hunter, especially for turkey and deer. He also enjoyed woodworking and handyman projects. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose work ethic and love and devotion to his family were inspiring to those who knew him. He will always be in our hearts.

Surviving Raymond are his loving wife of 47 years, the former Agnes Camillocci; son, Cory Ash Sr. and his wife, Natalie of Nescopeck; grandsons: Cory Ash Jr. and Joshua Ash; granddaughters: Shayla and Sacora Ash; great-granddaughter, Madison Ash; sisters: Jane Miller of York and Lottie Ann Clark of Nescopeck; brother, Ed Ash of Berwick, and many nieces and nephews.

As well as his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Woodley Ash, in 2009; a brother, William Ash; and a sister, Sara Rex.
