I met this amazing woman a few years ago through this site, Find a Grave. She'd left flowers on my daddy's memorial page and I left her a thank you on her bio page. From that grew a deep and warm friendship.

Trish was a member of Find a Grave for 7 years, 11 months and 3 days. In that time she left 251,809 flowers on memorial pages. That comes out to around 87 flowers per day. Doing that for all of us was something that she really enjoyed. The following is from her bio page on Find a Grave: "I visit alot of memorials leaving flowers. This gives me a lot of pleasure. If you have any memorials you would like for me add flowers to, just drop me a line. Please put "FAG" in the subject, I would be happy to do it." ...and she was as good as her word and better. I never asked her for a single flower, but she left one on almost every memorial page that I've entered.

I never met Trish but through our email messages and our Find a Grave connection, I came to love her, as did most people that 'met' her, whether in person or on-line. Family was everything to Trish. She'd been working on her family tree for a few years and loved every minute of it. Trish enjoyed life, loved giving to others and never, I don't believe, ever, expected anything in return.

She will be missed...
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.
loveyou, lady

Gayla asked me if I'd put this on here...
She told her mom the night she passed that she was to let her know if there really is a Rainbow Bridge... Trish loved this poem.
I can close my eyes and see the joy-filled reunion when Trish ran across the Rainbow Bridge and scooped up her beloved Lody then ran on to where her mom and sister waited for them...

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, sunshine and toys, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

Those who were abused or mal-treated have had their tears wiped away, and sit for as long as they want on the Golden Flowing Robes of God's Lap. They feel the touch of Pure Love on their heads and finally know happiness. All the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing -they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent and her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, she breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

... oh, my friend, every time I visit one of the memorial pages I've entered here on FAG, I find that you've been there. On a lot of them you're the only flower there. I always meant to get back to each one and leave a flower but time has gotten away and I never did it. In your memory I promise to visit all the memorials I've entered and leave a flower. On most there will only be a flower from me and you... but that's OK, I'll be in some pretty fantastic company...

♥..•..•:*¨¨*:•..♥..•:*¨¨*:•..•..♥

When you remember me,
it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind
even though countless years and miles may stand between us.
It means that if we meet again, you will know me.
It means that even after I die,
you can still see my face and hear my voice
and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me,
I am never entirely lost.

The Rose
~ by Bette Midler

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you it's only seed.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking,
That never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin',
That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love,
In the spring becomes the rose...

...our beloved Trish WILL bloom come the Spring...

Listen for Angels
hovering near,
whispering words
you long to hear,

love is not over
life is not gone
now and forever,
the spirit lives on.

...when we lose someone we love, we gain an angel whose name we know...
...can there be a better angel to have close to us than Trish... I think not...

If roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in Trish's caring arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her that her family
loves and misses her
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy
her loved one's do it every day.
But there's an ache within their hearts,
that will never go away.

Little did we know that day
that our Lord would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
though you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same
but as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again
