~~~ A Light is from our Household Gone ~~~
A light is from our household gone,
a voice we loved is stilled,
a place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled.
God gave us a beautiful father
a father who never grew old,
you were always there with a helping
hand, help us now to accept His plan.
We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
as time goes by we miss you more,
your loving smile, your gentle face
no one can take our "father's place."
~~~~ He Only Takes the Best ~~~~

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be."
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come with Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating;
Hard-working hands set to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

A million times we've needed you
And a million times we've cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

A heart of gold stopped beating;
Two smiling eyes closed to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
