Peter Richard Cole was born in Norwalk, CT the son of Irish Immigrants William and Mary Cole. Peter graduated from Norwalk High School and proudly volunteered to serve in the Army Air Forces during WWII.

Peter adored his wife Lois and together they raised two sons who served in the military during the Vietnam War.

Peter was a very talented carpenter, gardener, educator, explorer and avid historian of Native Americans. He built several of the homes his family lived in and provided an unusual education for his children by teaching them about nature and construction by working at his side.

Peter was a charming story teller and never failed to amuse his friends and children. He climbed through caves in Arizona and jumped out of military planes, saw the beauty of the mountains and dived into ice cold lakes. He knew the power of the trust and friendship of military buddies and Firefighters. He suffered the hunger of the Depression and found the joy of being alive.

He was the most "alive" person I have ever known.

Dad passed away from natural causes shortly before his 82nd birthday dying in his own bed just like he said he would. Even though he was in his 80's, it was hard to believe that his energy would ever stop.
