Lance Cpl. Nicholas R. Anderson of Sauk City, Wisconsin made friends very easily and he was ready to take on the world. Starting at an early age, he liked to shoot guns with his dad and uncles, and he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Nick was also very mechanically inclined, a perfectionist who enjoyed fixing things, enjoyed working out and lifting weights, and was especially proud of his "pipes." Nick had a passion for motorcycles and really enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson FatBoy with friends. He had a close bond with his nephew, Ethan and niece, Ella, who always thought of Nick when they heard a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Nick was a graduate of Sauk Prairie High School Class of 2003. During high school Nick worked for McFarlanes, and after high school started working for Monona Fire and Sprinkler. He started his military career when he enlisted in the National Guard in 2002, and later joined the Marine Corps in 2005. He was a member of Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694, and Sprinkler Fitters, Local Union 669. He died in a non-hostile vehicle accident in Afghanistan at age 21.
