MERCANTO, VINCENT J., 90 - of Cologne, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007. He was born in Camden to Antonio and Tavina Mercanto and lived in Egg Harbor City and Galloway Township all his life. Vincent served in the U.S. Army as a S/Sgt. for four years during WWII. After returning home, he married his wife, Bernice, of 61 years. He was a construction foreman for Ole Hansen & Sons for most of his working life and a member of Local 172. He enjoyed hunting with family and friends, working his farm, and cooking. Vincent is survived by his wife, Bernice (nee Englehardt); his children, Sandra Merrill (Robert), Sherry Marshall, James Mercanto and Kathy Echevarria (Pablo); eight grandchildren; three sisters, Antoinette Pinto, Mary Wetzel (Frank), Rose Montecalvo (John); two brothers, Daniel (Mae), Joseph (Voula), and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City, 609-965-0357. His service will follow at 11 A.M. Burial will be in Germania Cemetery.
