William Michael "Mike" Blackwell, Sr., 63, 982 Eagles Harbor Dr., Hodges, husband of Angela Robinson Blackwell, died March 12, 2014 at his home.
Born in Greenwood, November 24, 1950, he was a son of the late Abell and Ethel Davis Blackwell. Mike was the owner and operator of W.M. Blackwell & Associates for over 20 years. He was the drummer with the beach band, The Accents and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 12 years of the home are his two daughters, Kelly Blackwell Cathey-Darragh of Greenwood and Paula Blackwell Hinton and husband, Nick of Hodges; a son, William Michael "Will" Blackwell, Jr. of Hodges; a step-daughter, Kristal Miller Emery of Greenwood; a sister, Gail Blackwell Vines of Columbia; five grandchildren, Jacob Ellis Cathey, Katelyn Elizabeth Cathey, Ella Grace Hinton, Allie Claire Hinton and Andrew Miller Emery; nephew, Joe Vines, Jr; a niece, Lisa Vines Williams and husband, Benji; great-nephew, Ben Williams and a great-niece, Elyse Williams..
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
