Michael Eugene “Mike” Bryant, 62, of Fisher Farm Road, Martinsville, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Memorial Hospital. He was born May 16, 1951, to the late Roy Eugene Bryant and Doris M. Lester Bryant. He had owned and operated Southside and Northside service stations for the past 25 years. Mike was a graduate of Stoneville High School and had attended Rockingham Community College. He attended various churches in the community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Clark Bryant, and a grandson, William Michael Bryant.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jayne Roland Bryant; a son Michael Anthony “Tony” Bryant of Axton; a daughter, Tonya Renea Bryant of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Kristin Dawn Bryant, of Ridgeway, Tyson M. Stockton and Melia M. Stockton of Martinsville and one great-grandchild, Kayleigh Joyce of Ridgeway.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, December 13, 2013, at Stoneville Municipal Cemetery in Stoneville, North Carolina, with Rev. Ricky Carter officiating. Memorials may be made to the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
