Thomas Manuel Chavira , Born to Thomas and Maurilia , Salas ,Chavira . Affectionately Known As " Manuel" or " Mano " by his siblings . He was A Loving and devoted Husband , Father , Son , Brother , Uncle and friend . He Is Survived By His Lovely Wife , His Children And His Siblings. He Served As Cpl In The United States Marine Corps From 1952 - 1956 Was Awarded A High Honoring Medal Of Recognition For Rescuing A High Ranking Official That Fell Overboard While Sailing The Ocean On A Naval Vessel En Route In His Travels While In The Marine Corps. Manuel Dove Into The Ocean To Rescue The Official. After Manuels Discharge From The United States Marine Corps , He Became A Barber Opened His Barber Shop On Brooklyn Avenue In East Los Angeles California , He Became A Very Well Known And Very Loved And Respected Barber And Friend To All , Gave Free Hair Cuts And Shaves To The Homeless , Manuel Loved And Cared About His Community. He Married His Lovely Wife Gloria They Made Their Home In Monterey Park California And Became The Father Of Four Lovely Children Whom He Loved And Adored. Days Before His Passing He Was Very Happy And Excited For His Up And Coming New Years Eve Party He'd Planned With Family And Friends All Expected In Attendance And Excited As Well ... Sadly , My Uncle Manuel Passed Away In The Early Hours Of The Morning Of December 31st 1974 Of A Massive Heart Attack ... He Will Always Be Treasured And Loved In My Heart ... In All Our Hearts ... Forever.
