Actor. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was a man of many talents, an actor, stuntman, bodyguard, an expert in karate, kickboxing, and a professional boxer. A good friend of martial artist/actor Chuck Norris, he began studying martial arts in 1967, then Tang Soo Doo, before receiving his 6th degree black belt in 1970. For his achievements he became the first black martial artist inducted into the Black Belt Hall Of Fame. As a boxer, he won the 1980 WKA full-contact welterweight title, and became the sixth-ranked WBA boxer in his class. After his retirement from the ring in 1983 he became a bodyguard for such celebrities as The Temptations and his friend Chuck Norris. Jackson later became an actor and appeared in such films as, "Disco Godfather" (1980), "Furious" (1984), "Code Of Silence" (1985), "Invasion U.S.A." (1985), "The Delta Force" (1986), "Deathrow Gameshow" (1987), "Braddock: Missing In Action" (1988), "Full Contact" (1993), "Red Sun Rising" (1993), "Out For Blood" (1993), "Bloodfist VI: Ground Zero" (1995), "Bloodfist VII: Manhunt" (1995), and the television programs, "Raven," and "Walker, Texas Ranger." In 2002 he was diagnosed with leukemia. He died in the City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, California, on March 7, 2006, at the age of 54.
