Their first child, a boy, arrived the next year and died before he could be named. Two other children followed: Marie in 1915, and George in 1917.
The following year, Roy was on a job in Akron, Ohio were he was killed shortly before Christmas.
The 1920 census finds her and her two children back in her parent's home while she works at a department store as a saleslady.
Things didn't stay miserable for long, though, as she met and married Francis C. Connell and had a young son, Thomas, added to her brood to keep her busy. The 1930 census finds them all happily living together, very near to her sister, Florence, and her family.
