Funeral services were held for W.R. "Sonny" Clarke Friday, March 2, 1984 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Rev. Ray Earls and Rev. Jim Doyle officiated.

Mr. Clarke was born November 7, 1914 in Elaine, Ark. He died at Eastwood Hospital in Memphis on February 29, 1984.

He and his father operated the Clarke Hardware Store in Steele for many years.

Mr. Clarke leaves his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one daughter, Melody Mathers, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Misty, of St. Louis; his father, D.I. and step-mother, Lucille, of Steele; and two sisters: Eloise Earls of Steele and Mary Peterson of Louisville, Ky.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
