Funeral services for Mr. Charles Perkins will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Christ Church of Oakdale with Reverend Greg Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Blackjack Cemetery, Pitkin under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. Perkins, 62, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 3, 2009 in Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.

Charles was a member of the Christ Church of Oakdale. He worked pipeline for fifteen years and was a member of Local 692.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Louise Perkins; three brothers, Homer Perkins, Kenneth Perkins and J. E. Perkins and two sisters, Ruth Hall and Lavelle Sealy.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-one years, Cynthia Ann Perkins of Oakdale; two sons, Shannon Perkins and his wife, Wanda and Charles Derek Perkins, all of Oakdale; one daughter, Christol Halvorson and her husband, Lonnie of Oakdale; three brothers, Louis Perkins of Elizabeth, Wilburn Perkins of Oakdale and Robert Perkins of Opelousas; one sister, Violet McFarland of Vidor, Texas and five grandchildren, Christopher Perkins, Anthony Perkins, Madison Halvorson, Colyn Halvorson and Jayce Halvorson.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Brian Lambright, Jamie Perkins, Dewayne Perkins, Shane Perkins, Scotty Perkins and Christopher Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Lambright, Anthony Perkins and Kyle Edenfield. Friends may call at Christ Church of Oakdale on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight and on Wednesday, August 5, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
