Rock Musician. He was a founding member of the folk rock group "America". Formed in 1970 with musicians Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, he shared lead vocal duties as well as playing guitar, bass and keyboards. He performed on all their biggest hits, including "A Horse With No Name", "Ventura Highway" and "Sister Golden Hair", and wrote a few himself, including "Lonely People", "Tin Man", "Today's the Day", and "Woman Tonight". After he left the group in 1977, he concentrated on music for his newfound faith in religion. He went on to record several solo Christian pop albums such as "All Things Are Possible" (1979), which was on the Top 10 Christian Billboard charts. His other solo hits included "Doer of the Word" (1984), "Electrovoice" (1986) and a re-make of "Lonely People" (1986), with new lyrics to reflect his Christian faith. Semi-retired in the 1990s, he continued to write and worked with artist Garth Brooks who recorded Peek's "Don't Cross The River" for his "Scarecrow" album.
