I, J. Wathen, manager of this memorial, am the great-grandniece of Carl. His sister, Ella Bertha (Magers) Roberts, is my great-grandmother.

The Holton Recorder, Thursday, 29 June, 1939:

MAGERS.

Carl McCloud, son of Isaac and Lucina Magers, was born near Plato, Mo., September 9, 1903, and died at Holton, Kan., June 25, 1939, at the age of 36 years, 9 months and 16 days.

He came with his parents to Kansas when he was five years of age. They located in Jackson county, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was united in marriage with Beulah Ray, of Mayetta, Kan., October 11, 1924, and to this union three children were born: Donna Lou, Nadine Fern and Carl Edward, all of the home.

He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife and three children, his father and mother; six sisters: Mrs. Dora and Mrs. Vera Stringos, of Hutchinson, Kan.; Mrs. Edna Aikens, of Wapato, Wash.; Mrs. Ella Roberts, of Centralia, Kan.; Mrs. Jessie Marshall, Delia, Kan., and Mrs. Irene McClintock, Mayetta, Kan.; also five brothers: Henry, Tom and Roy of Mayetta, Kan.; Albert of Terreton, Ida., and Sam, of Wapato, Wash.; two half brothers having preceded him in death; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Troy P. Bess, of the Holton Christian Church, at the Mercer Funeral Chapel, June 28, and burial was made in the Holton Cemetery.
