He was born Sept. 28, 1913 at Mayetta, the son of Oran and Lucy Wich-e-wah Daugherty.
Mr. Daugherty had lived all of his life in Mayetta where he was a farmer and stockman.
He was baptized in the Catholic Church and was a member of the Prairie Band of the Potawatomi Tribe.
Mr. Daugherty married Leafy Keller on July 31, 1935 at Westmoreland. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Leon Daugherty, Mayetta; one daughter, Gwyn Hinman, Whiting; one sister, Orena Baker, Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Darwin and Oran; one daughter, Barbara Lou Daugherty; three sisters, Christine Nelson, Forestine Anderson and Margaret Daugherty; three brothers, Lucien, Sherrill and Oran Daugherty.
Services were Monday at Mercer Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Potawatomi Methodist Church and sent in care of the Denison State Bank, Holton or Hoyt or to Mercer Funeral Home, Holton.
