Dawson Daugherty was born in Sullivan County, Illinois in 1864 and died at Stormont Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, Nov. 26, 1924, age 60 years, 3 months, and 16 days. Mr. Daugherty came to Jackson County in 1896 and located on the reservation where he met and later married Miss Ora Levengood. To this union was born 2 children, Mrs. Helen Niles and Mrs. Margaret Mc Lane, both of Mayetta, Kansas.

Besides his children, he leaves to mourn his loss, 4 grandchildren, Paul and Pauline Niles, and Galin and Dawson McLane; three sisters and 4 brothers, Mrs. Rhoda Trosper of Morland, Kans., Mrs. Margaret Davis of Solomon, Kans., Mrs. Lucina Magers of Mayetta, Kans.; The brothers are, Oran, James and Ruban Daugherty of Holton, and one half-brother, Joseph Martin of Shannon Springs, Kans. and a host of friends.
