Death of Mrs. Gilmer
Many friends throughout the county will be pained to learn of the death of Mrs. Mary V. Gilmer, which occurred at Abingdon Thursday. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Myers of Polk township, and was born and grew to womanhood in this county. She was married to N. S. Gilmer in that locality January 11th, 1885. Four children survive the mother, and with the bereaved husband and father will receive the sympathy of the community in which their home is located. Mrs. Gilmer was a woman of many excellences and was held in the highest esteem by those who had formed her acquaintance. She had been in ill health for several months. Her age was thirty-five years. The remains were interred at Abingdon Friday afternoon, Rev. H. C. Millice officiating.
