Perry Wayne Calvin, age 37, of Frost, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, while providing the ultimate sacrifice to the Community of West.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 2, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with Steve Burleson officiating. Burial will follow at Frost Cemetery near Frost. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Perry will lie in state beginning at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Perry was born January 18, 1976 in Dallas, TX the son of Phil and Cindy Calvin. He graduated from Frost High School. Perry was currently attending the Fire Academy and Emergency Medical Technician at Hill College. On October 19, 2002, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann Griffis in Frost. He was a self-employed farmer and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed horseback riding, rodeos, fishing and especially spending time with his family. Perry was a member of the Navarro Mills Volunteer Fire Department and Mertens Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 10 years, Rebecca Ann Calvin of Frost; two sons, Paul Wyatt Calvin and Preston Calvin, both of Frost; his father, Phil Calvin and his wife Cindy; a brother, Wes Calvin and wife Emily of Frost; two sisters, Penny Dixon of Bryan-College Station and Page Calvin who is currently serving in the Air Force; his grandmother, Edna Calvin of Hutchins; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are J. R. Surovik, Chad Degner, Travis Thurston, Terry Rasco, Chase Blume, and Eric McGill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Navarro Mills Volunteer Fire Department and Mertens Volunteer Fire Department.
