He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1996 and was a AH-1W Cobra pilot and Executive Officer of HMLA-469. He had flown three tours in Iraq, had deployed to Afghanistan once, and was preparing for his second deployment to Afghanistan. He received his Master's Degree in 2009 in military studies from Marine Corps University.

He was survived by a his parents; wife; his 2-year-old son; his brother; his two sisters; five nieces and nephews; and his Godparents.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, Newington, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at St Mary's Church, Newington, CT.
