Martin James Wilson, 58, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Hospice Ministries. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Martin was born on February 9, 1955 , in Natchez, the son of Martin Kenneth Wilson and Frances Mortiz Wilson. Martin graduated from Pascagoula High School and continued his education at Mississippi State University. While attending MSU, he was a member of Lambda Chi social fraternity. Martin began his career as an Industrial Sales Representative in Mobile, AL and was responsible sales through the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast. In 2001, Martin moved to Jackson and accepted a sales position with C Spire where he remained until retirement last year. Martin was an avid golfer and collected arrow heads. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball. He will be remembered most as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Mortiz Wilson.

Survivors include his father, Kent Wilson of Gautier; sister, Laura Blaylock and husband Vic of Jackson and niece, Rachel Wiley and husband Preston of Tupelo. The family wishes to thank the caring people at Baptist Hospital and Hospice Ministries. A special thanks to Crane and Nan Kipp and Brister and Marian Ware and a very special thanks to Bess Corbitt who was with him at the end. Before his illness Martin was planning to work with the children at neighborhood Christian Center in Jackson.
