Mrs. Holmes, 62, died March 31, 2014, at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems. She was born on March 24, 1952, to Roland Bessonette and Margie Quinn Bessonette Griffith.
She was a well-loved, respected nurse at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems for 25 plus years. She was more affectionately known as Mama "D," Aunt Denise and Nursing Supervisor Extraordinaire. Her calming presence and
spirited personality was loved by her fellow nurses and patients. She made a deep impression on all who met her. She
was also a member of Union Hall Baptist Church.
One of her favorite hobbies was riding with her best friend/husband on their Harley. Of all those who adored her, her family adored her most. Her grandchildren cherished all the fun memories "Grandma" created for them. She found such
joy in all their smiles and laughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Mike Holmes; sons, Steve Burns and wife, Stacy, Brad Holmes and wife, Misty; brothers,
Jackie Bessonette and wife, Glenda, Wayne Bessonette and wife, Debbie; five grandchildren, Austin Burns, Alyssa
Burns, Alex Burns, Anna Leigh Burns and Tate Holmes; she is also survived by two nieces, Stacie Bessonette
Goodman and Leslee Bessonette Smith; two nephews, Scott Bessonette and Casey Bessonette; along with a hose of
great-nieces and great-nephews.
