Lt. Col. Quinn, 86, died March 26, 2009, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. He was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 11, 1922, to Luther Quinn and Alberta Mason Quinn.
He retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Army. Lt. Col. Quinn was an excellent produce farmer, who shared generously with his friends and neighbors. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Brookhaven Exchange Club and Knights of Columbus. He was a former president of the election commission.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a daughter, Karen Quinn Ollinger.
Survivors are his wife, Renee Quinn, of Brookhaven; a son, James L Quinn and wife, Martha Ann, of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Quinn Blackwell, of Brookhaven; a sister, Bernice Wilson and husband, Jerry, of Brookhaven; his two grandchildren, Cain Blackwell and wife, Abby, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Alison Quinn, of Tallahassee.
