Army Sgt. 1st Class Boling was assigned to Company C, 1-152nd Infantry, Tell City, Indiana. Boling collapsed and died while eating with his unit at Camp Wolf, Kuwait of a heart attack. Before he was deployed to the Middle East, Craig paid a florist to send his wife a bouquet of flowers every month he was gone. He was a National Guard platoon sergeant with no history of health problems. Craig completed 20 years in the reserves in February and expected to retire from the military but that was put on hold until after the war. He had planned a two-week vacation with his family when he got home.
