-- KERSHAW ­ Raymond Edward Bowling, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000.

Born Oct. 15, 1934, in Bedford Va., he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Emma Reed Bowling and was married to Nannie Ruth Roberts Bowling.

He was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church and a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, having served 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary (John) Curlee and Carol (Donny) Plumber, both of Newport News, Va. and Betty (Eddie) Evert of Yorktown, Va.; a step-daughter, Patty Rushing of Kershaw; a step-son, Hubert E. Adams Jr. of Kershaw; three brothers, Glenwood Bowling of Kershaw, Wayne Bowling of Ruther Glen, Va., and Rodney Bowling of Lenoir, N.C.; two sisters, Helen Terrell of Ruther Glen, Va. and Frances Daniel of Montpelier, Va.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

Services were held Oct. 16 at Sand Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Patrick J. Minihane and Gilliam "Butch" Gordon, with burial in Kershaw City cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sand Hill Baptist Church; 6964 Bishopville Hwy.; Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or to the American Cancer Society; 128 Stonemark Lane; Westpark Plaza; Columbia, S.C. 29210.
