Robert Loyd Drake, born April 2, 1910 in Cincinnati, age 65, of 2230 S. Patterson Blvd., Kettering, Ohio, passed away Monday morning at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He graduated in 1933 from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Electrical Engineering, was an engineer with Bendix Aviation, chief engineer of Radio Products Co. and Learavia. In 1942 he founded the R. L. Drake Co. and continued as its president and chairman of the board. he was a member of the American Rado Relay League and was licensed as W 8 CYE.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; his mother, Grace Wiley Drake; a daughter; three sons; two brothers, Arthur E. Drake of Delaware and Elmer W. Drake of Indiana; a sister, Bess Heeter of West Carrollton, OH.; five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at the St. johns Lutheran Church, Miamisburg. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
