THE OKLAHOMAN (Oklahoma City, OK) 7/31/1928 DEATHS & FUNERALS (Tuesday) Funeral services for Troy M. Diammond, who died at Okemah, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Capitol Hill Funeral Home in charge of Rev. R. E. Van Horn. Burial in Rose Hill.

THE OKLAHOMAN (Oklahoma City, OK) 7/29/1928 OKEMAH MERCHANT HELD FOR KILLING (Sunday) Alleged 'Triangle' Cited As Motive. Okmulgee, July 28 – E.L. Woodward, proprietor of a general store near Okemah, was being held by the sheriff, pending the filing of murder charges, following the killing of Roy Diamond, 35 years old, Okmulgee oil field worker Saturday. Diamond is said to have been friendly with Mrs. Woodward. Emerging from a building across the highway where he had been on business. Woodward approached the car in which Diamond was sitting, and beside which Mrs. Woodward was standing. Woodward, witnesses said, made some remark to Diamond, who reached from the car and grabbed Woodward. The husband then fired four shots, they said. Woodward went to Okemah, where he gave himself up at the sheriff's office.
