James L. (Jimmy) was the son of James Wilson (Jim) Newton and Mary Alice LITTLE Newton. He married Mary Ann Staten July 14, 1928 in Charleston, Tallahatchie, Ms. They had three children; one son and two daughters.

Uncle Jimmy was a fun guy and always had a good joke to tell. I always loved to visit them and listen to him talk. He'd keep you laughing. But he was a hard worker and provided his family with a good life. He loved all his kin and they loved him in turn.
