Carrollton – Graveside services for James Paul Newton, 66, of Carrollton, who died of cancer Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at his home, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Linn Methodist Cemetery in Linn.
Mr. Newton was retired from Barrentine Manufacturing, where he worked for 20 years. He was born in Tallahatchie County. He attended the Church of God.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Russell.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Norris Newton of Carrollton; three sons; one daughter; one sister, Linda Thrasher of Amarillo, Texas; and one brother, Charles Newton of Canyon Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Russell, Lee Russell, Jessie Russell, Charlie Thrasher, Danny Scallion, and Jimmy Newton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Rosamond and Tommy Whitehurst.
