Son of Mary Thee "Doshie" Taylor and Tom Hancock. Husband of Anna Marie Byrne Hancock Father of Louis, Tom, Jerls and Kenneth. Grandfather of Nina, Ann, Sherry, Julie Karen, Desaree' and Jason. Great Grandfather of Emily, Michelle, Jennifer and Philip Wesley Paul. Butler and Anna's son Louis passed away on May 21, 1944 of a kidney infection. For many years Butler and Anna traveled as Butler was an iron worker. They traveled from job to job. After a few years they settled in Houston, Texas. For many years the Hancock relatives all lived within a few miles radius in the Houston area. After a time Butler began to long for the home where he grew up and they moved back to Clarks, Louisiana. There they lived out the end of their days.
My grandfather loved to hunt. I remember the squirrels that he used to bring to our house after they had gone hunting. He was a very guiet man, but when he spoke, you listened. He had a good sense of humor and when he laughed it was something to remember. He loved the woods. He loved to be in them and to live around them. I remember his last day on this earth so well, what a blessing for me to see him that last day. Now, he is in another place, a better place, without all of this worry and fear.
Rest well, Paw Paw, I Love You. I wish I could see you again, but I know that you are with me always.
