Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Margaret Rose (Mische) Konz, age 79 of St. Cloud, formerly of Kimball who died on Saturday, December 3rd after years of polio-related lung complications. Marge has donated her body for further research at the University of Minnesota as part of the Medical School's Anatomy Bequest program. Burial for both Marge and her husband, Arnie, who recently died and donated his body for research, will be at a later date in the Holy Cross Parish Cemetery, Pearl Lake.


Marge was born September 26, 1932 in St. Cloud, MN to the late Louis and Cecilia (Kahl) Mische. She graduated from Cathedral High School and lat er St Cloud State Teachers' College with an Elementary Education degree. She taught at schools in Circle Pines, Holdingford, Osseo and Eden Valley.

Marge married Arnold (Arnie) Konz on August 28, 1956, at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. She and her husband farmed in Kimball for 33 years and lived on Pearl Lake for over 20 years. She volunteered as a 4H leader, DAC Board member, Kimball Food Shelf, Tri-Cap Food Surplus, Kimball blood drives, and substitute teacher at local elementary schools. She enjoyed teaching religion and served as the NFO secretary for Stearns County. Marge was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group (music was her love). She was a board member of the Kimball Combined Charities Board. She also served on the Holy Cross Church Board and sang in the church choir. She and Arnie enjoyed traveling in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Europe and China. Marge loved her family, music, conversation and people.

Survivors include her children: Mary ( Thomas) Maida, Little Canada, MN, Anita (Bob) Grieman, Denver, CO, Michael (Joni), Sauk Rapids, MN, Amy (Jim) Anderson, Helena, MT, and Jane (Loren) Hanson, Pierre, SD; nine grandchildren: Mike, Madeline, Luca, Mackenzie, Dan, Julia, Angela, Ben and Zachary. Marge is also survived by her brothers, Louis, Milwaukee, WI, Will, Denver, CO and George, Columbia Heights, MN.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold and her brothers, John, Gerald and Eugene Mische.
